What is the Compass Exam?

One of the requirements for admission to NSU for most applicants is to be in need of no more than one developmental course.  Most students satisfy this requirement with the ACT or SAT exam.  We also accept the COMPASS exam for placement into college level math and English.

Where can I take the Compass Exam?

The COMPASS Exam is being given on campus by appointment only through our Testing Office (318-357-5246).  We will also accept COMPASS Exam scores submitted to us from the Registrar's or Record's Office at another college or university, from an official testing office of a Technical College or Community College, or from a certified testing center.  A fee is required to take the exam and may vary depending on the testing facility.

What are official Compass scores?

To be considered official, COMPASS scores must be sent directly from the testing agency by mail or FAX:
